Man arrested with 100kg shabu destined for Sabah via Brunei

The suspect, apprehended during a border operation, was attempting to transport the substantial drug shipment through Brunei before delivering it to Sabah, said Bukit Aman's anti-narcotics chief on Tuesday. The seizure represents a significant blow to trafficking networks operating across the region's maritime routes.
The 100-plus kilogrammes of shabu, or crystalline methamphetamine, was intercepted as it moved through the transit country en route to Malaysian territory. The street value of the confiscated narcotics exceeds RM5 million, making it one of the more substantial hauls in recent months.
The arrest underscores ongoing concerns about drug trafficking through Southeast Asia, with smugglers frequently exploiting Brunei's location between Malaysia and Indonesia as a conduit for illicit substances. Police said investigations are ongoing to identify other individuals involved in the supply chain.
The case reflects intensified efforts by Malaysian authorities to combat methamphetamine trafficking, which has become increasingly prevalent in the region. The suspect is expected to face charges related to drug trafficking under Malaysia's Dangerous Drugs Act.
