Man atop mobile tower demands CM meeting before agreeing to climb down

Panic gripped the Tundi locality of Dhanbad when a young man suddenly scaled a mobile tower, triggering a tense hours-long standoff that drew police and residents to the scene. The 24-year-old, visibly distressed, remained perched on the structure despite efforts by authorities and locals to persuade him to come down safely.

According to officials at the scene, the man expressed deep grievances about systemic corruption and personal hardships. He insisted on speaking directly with either the state Chief Minister or Jayram Mahto, the local Member of Legislative Assembly representing Dumri, before agreeing to climb down.

Police and community members spent considerable time attempting to negotiate with the man, urging him to descend. The situation remained precarious as the youth remained resolute in his demands, with responders concerned about his safety on the tower.

The standoff was eventually resolved when arrangements were made for the legislator to communicate with the man. Following the conversation with Mahto, the 24-year-old agreed to leave the tower safely. No injuries were reported in the incident, though the episode highlighted underlying frustrations among residents regarding governance and personal grievances in the region.
