Upon arrival, officers found the man had barricaded himself inside the flat, refusing to emerge or communicate with authorities.
Police negotiators engaged in efforts to persuade the man to exit the unit peacefully throughout the afternoon and evening. The six-hour standoff tested the patience and professionalism of responding officers, who maintained a perimeter around the block while working to de-escalate the situation.
The situation was eventually resolved when the man agreed to exit the flat. He was subsequently taken into police custody for further investigation and questioning regarding the incident.
