Man charged over drink-driving death in fatal road accident

Iman Nafiz Fong Sabirin appeared in court facing charges stemming from a road accident that resulted in one fatality and left another individual injured.

The charges against the 34-year-old allege that he was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated at the time of the collision. Under Malaysian traffic and criminal law, driving under the influence is a serious offense, particularly when it results in loss of life or bodily harm to others.

In addition to the charge related to the death, Fong Sabirin is also accused of causing injury to a second person involved in the same accident. Both charges carry significant legal penalties upon conviction.

The case has been filed with the relevant court authorities and is expected to proceed through the judicial system. Authorities have emphasized the dangers of drink-driving and continue to conduct enforcement operations aimed at reducing such incidents on Malaysian roads.

The matter remains ongoing, with further court dates to be scheduled as the legal process continues.
