Man convicted of orchestrating 1996 murder of rap icon Tupac Shakur
A Las Vegas jury has found Duane 'Keffe D' Davis guilty of murder in connection with the killing of rapper Tupac Shakur nearly three decades ago, bringing closure to one of hip-hop's most enduring mysteries.

Davis, 63, was convicted Monday of a single count of murder with a deadly weapon following a weekslong trial. The jury reached its verdict in less than three hours of deliberation. He now faces a potential life sentence.
Prosecutors presented evidence that Davis acquired a firearm and deliberately sought out Shakur and Death Row Records co-founder Marion 'Suge' Knight following an earlier altercation in which the two men had assaulted Davis' nephew. Chief Deputy District Attorney Binu Palal told jurors during closing arguments that Davis bore direct responsibility for Shakur's death and urged them to return a guilty verdict.
The 1996 shooting claimed the life of one of hip-hop's most influential figures at the height of the genre's popularity. The case had remained unsolved for decades, captivating fans and observers worldwide. Following the jury's announcement, Shakur's sister, Sekyiwa 'Set' Shakur, embraced the prosecutors while visibly emotional.
