ANGELES CITY, Pampanga — A man identified as Reiner Novero died after falling into a flooded, open drainage canal along the Fil-Am Friendship Highway in Barangay Cutcut on Wednesday, August 28.

The Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO) confirmed the victim's identity after reviewing closed-circuit television footage that captured the incident. Video of the event circulated widely on social media, drawing public attention to safety hazards posed by open drainage systems in the area.
