Man dies in electrocution after attempted cable theft in Kapar

A fatal electrocution has claimed the life of a man suspected of attempting to steal cables belonging to Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) in the Kapar area. The victim is believed to have been struck by a live electrical current while engaged in the cable theft, resulting in his death at the scene.

The incident highlights the grave dangers associated with attempting to steal electrical infrastructure. High-voltage cables carry sufficient current to prove instantly fatal, and unauthorized handling of such equipment places individuals at extreme risk of electrocution.

Theft of TNB cables has been a persistent problem in various parts of Malaysia, with thieves targeting copper and aluminum components for resale as scrap metal. However, such activities carry significant criminal penalties as well as the inherent risk of fatal injury.

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. Authorities are working to identify the deceased and determine the exact sequence of events that led to the electrocution. TNB has not yet issued a statement regarding the incident.
