Man found dead in suspected leopard attack near Hasanur

Authorities in the Hasanur region are investigating the death of a man found near the forest boundary following what is suspected to be a leopard attack. The victim had been reported missing by residents of the area, prompting a search operation by concerned villagers.

Searchers recovered the man's body in close proximity to the forest fringe, at or near the location where the fatal encounter is believed to have taken place. The discovery has intensified concerns about wildlife-human conflict in the region, where leopard sightings have occasionally posed risks to local communities.

Wildlife officials are expected to conduct further investigations to confirm the cause of death and assess whether precautionary measures are needed in the area. The incident adds to a documented pattern of dangerous animal encounters in forested regions across South India, where human settlements increasingly border wildlife habitats.
