Man posing as police officer arrested in Kerala drug racket

Police in Kozhikode have arrested a man identified as Rojith for impersonating a Sub-Inspector with the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force. The arrest follows the discovery of counterfeit police credentials and equipment in his possession.

During the arrest, authorities recovered an air pistol, handcuffs, and a fraudulent police identity card from the accused. Investigators also seized a photograph showing Rojith dressed in a police uniform, which he had been using as part of his deception.

The case highlights the ongoing challenge of criminal impersonation in the state, where fraudsters have previously attempted to exploit the authority associated with law enforcement badges. Police have not yet disclosed details regarding how long the accused had been operating under the false identity or the specific nature of his criminal activities.
