Manila Water Foundation deploys emergency WASH aid to flood-stricken areas

Manila Water Foundation (MWF), in coordination with Manila Water Company's East Zone and Non-East Zone operations, has activated its Agapay: WASH in Emergencies program to address urgent humanitarian needs in flood-affected communities.

The initiative targets areas severely impacted by the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, which has inundated multiple regions across the country. The program focuses on delivering essential water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services to vulnerable populations struggling with access to clean water and basic sanitation facilities in the aftermath of the flooding.

The Agapay program represents the company's commitment to disaster response operations and community resilience during emergencies. By combining resources from both operating units, Manila Water aims to ensure affected residents receive timely support for water access and sanitation needs during the recovery phase.

The deployment comes as flood-affected communities face heightened risks of waterborne diseases and sanitation challenges in the immediate aftermath of the disaster. The foundation's intervention seeks to mitigate these health threats while providing essential services to vulnerable populations.
