Manila Water Foundation upgrades water facilities in Mandaluyong on Global Handwashing Day

Manila Water Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Manila Water Company, inaugurated a Water Asset Installation and Rehabilitation project on October 15 to coincide with Global Handwashing Day. The WASH initiative was implemented in Mandaluyong City with support from the Manila Water Makati-Mandaluyong Service Area.

The project focused on enhancing water infrastructure to address persistent challenges with water pressure and availability in the area. By rehabilitating and installing water assets, the foundation sought to improve sanitation conditions and promote better hygiene practices among residents and institutional users in the locality.

The timing of the project's inauguration with the annual observance of Global Handwashing Day underscored the connection between reliable water access and public health. The initiative reflects Manila Water Foundation's strategy of combining infrastructure development with health advocacy to create sustainable improvements in community welfare.

Manila Water Company operates water distribution services across portions of Metro Manila, including Makati and Mandaluyong. The foundation's WASH projects are designed to address gaps in water and sanitation services while building awareness around proper hygiene practices among vulnerable populations in its service areas.
