MANILA – Two water service subsidiaries of Manila Water Company have secured international recognition for their climate adaptation initiatives. Estate Water and Boracay Water were named among the International Water Association's (IWA) Climate Smart Utilities for 2026, marking a significant acknowledgment of their sustainability programs.

The designations highlight the two operating units' commitment to building resilience against climate impacts while advancing environmentally responsible water management practices. Both utilities operate within Manila Water's Non-East Zone service area and have implemented strategies aligned with global standards for water security and climate adaptation.

The International Water Association confers the Climate Smart Utilities designation annually to recognize water providers demonstrating excellence in addressing climate vulnerabilities, reducing environmental footprints, and ensuring reliable service delivery in the face of changing climate conditions.

The recognition reflects broader industry efforts in the Philippines to strengthen water security as the country faces increasing climate challenges. Manila Water's initiatives underscore the private sector's role in supporting the nation's water resilience goals alongside government agencies and development partners.
