Manipal Hospitals charts expansion across southern and northern India

Manipal Health Enterprises has outlined an aggressive expansion strategy targeting key markets across India, according to its latest annual report. The healthcare provider is actively scouting for acquisition opportunities in Telangana, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh to selectively deepen its market presence in these identified growth corridors.

Beyond these priority markets, Manipal Hospitals continues to evaluate inorganic growth opportunities across established states including Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Goa, particularly along the Mumbai-Pune economic corridor. The company is also targeting Eastern India, encompassing West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Sikkim, as part of its broader consolidation strategy.

A flagship component of the group's infrastructure development plan is a greenfield facility in Juhu, Mumbai. Manipal has recently completed the acquisition of remaining land and building for this project, investing a total consideration of Rs 495 crore, with Rs 130 crore payable subject to specified conditions.

The expansion drive aligns with Manipal's strategic pivot toward a "physical plus digital" healthcare delivery model powered by artificial intelligence. The dual-pronged approach seeks to enhance patient accessibility while leveraging technology to optimize clinical outcomes and operational efficiency across its growing hospital network.
