Marathi film 'Gondhal' selected as India's Oscar entry

India's Film Federation has announced that 'Gondhal', a Marathi-language film, will represent the country in the International Feature Film category at the 99th Academy Awards ceremony.

The selection committee chose 'Gondhal' over a competitive field of submissions that included 'Main Vapas Aaunga', 'Hanuman Ansh', and 'Dhurundhar 2', among others. The decision was made following a rigorous evaluation process by the Academy's selection panel.
