MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday promised that the government has implemented measures to ensure "safe, orderly and convenient" travel during this year's Undas observance, marking the All Saints' Day holiday period when millions of Filipinos journey across the country.
The presidential assurance was issued as the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) recorded over one million passengers on a single day, reflecting the substantial demand for transportation services during the traditional holiday season.
Government agencies have coordinated preparations to manage the anticipated surge in vehicular and passenger traffic. The commitment underscores efforts to address transportation challenges that typically arise during major national holidays when families travel to provincial hometowns and cemeteries.
Undas, observed annually on November 1st, traditionally prompts one of the year's largest mass movements of people across the Philippines. The holiday season typically extends several days, creating peak demand on roads, terminals, and other transport infrastructure nationwide.
