Marcos declares special holidays in 7 localities for September, October

MANILA — President Marcos has signed Proclamation No. 1437 establishing special non-working days in seven locations nationwide during September and October, recognizing important local celebrations and commemorations.

Under the proclamation, Aguinaldo in Ifugao will observe Monday, Sept. 21, as a special non-working day to mark its founding anniversary. The declarations aim to give residents the opportunity to engage meaningfully in their municipalities' founding anniversaries, charter day celebrations, and traditional fiesta festivities.

The special non-working day declarations follow standard practice whereby the national government recognizes significant local occasions that hold cultural and historical importance for provincial and municipal communities. Such proclamations typically apply to specific municipalities while maintaining regular working schedules in other regions.
