MANILA — President Marcos on Saturday extended birthday greetings to Eduardo V. Manalo, Executive Minister of the Iglesia ni Cristo, marking the religious leader's 71st year.
Through a Facebook post, Marcos expressed warm wishes to Manalo, stating: "Maligayang kaarawan po kay Kapatid na Eduardo V. Manalo, Tagapamahalang Pangkalahatan ng Iglesia ni Cristo!"
The presidential greeting highlighted shared aspirations between the administration and the INC, with emphasis placed on their common goal of fostering a peaceful and united Philippines. The message reflected the continued engagement between the government and one of the country's major religious organizations.
Manalo has led the Iglesia ni Cristo since 2009, succeeding his father Erano Manalo. The INC, one of Asia's largest homegrown religions with millions of members both locally and abroad, has long played a significant role in Philippine social and political discourse.
