ALFONSO LISTA, Ifugao – President Marcos Jr. on Monday inaugurated the P1.49-billion Alfonso Lista Pump Irrigation System (ALPIS) in Barangay Sto. Domingo, marking a significant step in the administration's agricultural development agenda.
The irrigation facility is projected to benefit 1,315 farmers across the municipality, providing reliable water supply for their crops and boosting productivity in the agricultural sector. The project represents one of several infrastructure initiatives prioritized by the current administration since assuming office in 2022.
Marcus emphasized the government's commitment to supporting Filipino farmers through improved irrigation systems and water management infrastructure. The Alfonso Lista project is designed to address chronic water shortages that have historically constrained agricultural output in the highland municipality.
The pump irrigation system is expected to enhance crop yields and provide farmers with greater financial stability by enabling more consistent cultivation cycles. Officials anticipate the project will contribute to improved rural livelihoods and food security across the region.
The initiative forms part of the administration's broader infrastructure and agricultural modernization program aimed at increasing productivity and resilience in farming communities nationwide.
