President Marcos paid his final respects to Quirino Governor Dakila Carlo "Dax" Cua on Wednesday evening, attending the viewing at Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City. Cua, who served as the province's chief executive, died on September 15 at the age of 48.
The presidential visit underscored Cua's prominence in local governance and his contributions to public administration in the Calabarzon region. Marcos was accompanied by his son, Ilocos Norte 1st District Representative Ferdinand "Sandro" Marcos Jr., who also serves as Majority Leader in the House of Representatives.
The death of the relatively young provincial governor drew tributes from government officials and constituents who recognized his tenure in leading Quirino province. His passing marked a significant loss to the province's political leadership at a time when local governments continue to navigate development priorities and public service demands across the region.
