President Marcos conducted a comprehensive walkthrough of the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City on Thursday, reviewing renovation work and operational readiness ahead of the major diplomatic event.

The 49th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit and Related Summits is scheduled to convene at the facility from November 10. The gathering brings together leaders and officials from the 10-member regional bloc to address key political, economic, and security issues affecting Southeast Asia.

The presidential inspection aimed to ensure the venue meets international standards for hosting high-level diplomatic meetings. The PICC, a premier convention facility in the Philippine capital, serves as a focal point for major regional and international conferences.

The Asean Summit represents a significant opportunity for the Philippines to showcase its capacity as a host nation and regional leader. Preparations for the event have been underway across multiple government agencies to coordinate logistics, security, and diplomatic protocols required for the gathering of regional dignitaries.
