The administration introduced Trabahong-Dagat, SkillPass, and Sagip-Trabaho as centerpieces of its employment strategy, with each program targeting different segments of the Filipino workforce seeking better opportunities and economic stability.
The initiatives aim to address persistent employment challenges by providing Filipinos with pathways to develop marketable skills, connect with available job positions, and establish sustainable income sources. Officials framed the programs as complementary components of a broader labor agenda designed to reduce joblessness and underemployment across the nation.
Trabahong-Dagat focuses on maritime and coastal employment opportunities, while SkillPass emphasizes skills training and certification. Sagip-Trabaho targets workers in need of immediate employment assistance and livelihood support.
The Department of Labor and Employment is overseeing implementation of the three programs. Officials did not immediately provide details on funding allocations, timeline for full rollout, or projected beneficiary numbers across the initiatives.
