The visit allowed the chief executive to interact directly with displaced families sheltering at the facility.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development distributed P10,000 in cash assistance to each affected family during the president's visit. The emergency aid forms part of the agency's established assistance program for disaster-impacted communities.
Flood events have periodically affected Pampanga, a low-lying province in Central Luzon prone to inundation during heavy rainfall.
