Marico to acquire majority stake in Bonorizon Consumer Ventures

Marico Limited, one of India's leading fast-moving consumer goods companies, has announced plans to acquire a controlling 51 percent stake in Bonorizon Consumer Ventures for ₹35 crore. The acquisition will be structured as a primary subscription, allowing Marico to gain a majority holding in the venture.

As part of the transaction framework, Marico has retained the right to purchase the remaining 49 percent equity stake held by other shareholders after a three-year period. The exercise of this option will be contingent upon certain conditions being satisfied over the designated timeframe.

The investment aligns with Marico's strategy to expand its portfolio and explore emerging consumer categories. Bonorizon Consumer Ventures operates in the consumer products space, presenting the FMCG player with opportunities to diversify its business offerings and tap into new market segments.

Details regarding the specific conditions that will govern Marico's future acquisition of the remaining stake have not been disclosed. The transaction is expected to strengthen Marico's position in the evolving Indian consumer market, where the company continues to pursue inorganic growth opportunities alongside its core product lines.
