Martinez clarifies frustration with Manchester United on social media

The Manchester United defender released a statement through social media channels to elaborate on remarks that had generated attention in recent days, emphasizing that his comments stemmed from a genuine desire to see the club perform at its highest level.

Martinez, who joined United from Ajax in 2022, stressed that his criticism should be understood as constructive rather than dismissive, rooted in his commitment to the club's success and his understanding of the standards expected at Old Trafford.

The left-back's clarification follows increased scrutiny of player conduct and communications regarding club matters, a topic that has drawn considerable focus in English football in recent seasons.

United have faced a challenging campaign by their standards, and Martinez's intervention reflects the tensions that can arise when senior players hold themselves and their teammates accountable for performances falling short of expectations.

The defender's move to explain his position publicly underscores the modern player's engagement with social media as a means of directly addressing supporters and managing their public narrative in real time.
