Maruti Suzuki dominates India's auto exports with top three models in Q1

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd announced on Tuesday that it has claimed the top three spots in India's passenger vehicle export rankings for Q1 FY26-27, with the FRONX, Jimny 5-Door, and eVITARA leading the charts.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Hisashi Takeuchi said the achievement underscores the company's sustained focus on the export segment. "Sustained focus on exports has earned the company the number one position in passenger vehicle exports from India. Illustrating this leadership, all three of India's top exported passenger vehicles in Q1 FY26-27 were from Maruti Suzuki," Takeuchi said.

The FRONX, which recently crossed the 2 lakh export milestone in under 38 months, emerged as one of the company's flagship export performers. Beyond the top three positions, Maruti Suzuki's portfolio demonstrates commanding market presence, with six of its models ranking among India's top eight exported passenger vehicles.

The dominance comes as Maruti Suzuki maintains over 55 per cent share in passenger vehicle exports from India. Competing vehicles in the export rankings include the Hyundai Grand i10 in fourth position and the Nissan Magnite in seventh place, indicating the significant gap between the market leader and its competitors in India's automotive export sector.
