Maruti Suzuki's India-made exports to Japan surpass 100,000 units

Maruti Suzuki India said Monday that Made-in-India versions of the Jimny 5-door, Fronx, and e Vitara have collectively crossed the 100,000-unit export threshold to Japan. The three-model portfolio has established Japan as the company's second-largest export market by volume in fiscal year 2025-26, a position it has maintained through the first five months of the current fiscal year.

The company initiated exports of the Fronx to the Japanese market in August 2024, followed by the Jimny 5-door in December 2024. The e Vitara, Maruti Suzuki's maiden Battery Electric Vehicle, commenced exports to Japan in September 2025, broadening the company's export portfolio and reinforcing India's status as a strategic manufacturing location for Suzuki globally.

Both the Jimny 5-door and e Vitara are manufactured exclusively at Maruti Suzuki's Indian facilities. The milestone reflects growing international acceptance of vehicles produced in India, particularly in competitive and technologically advanced markets like Japan. The achievement signals the company's expanding capacity to serve global customers and strengthens India's position within Suzuki's worldwide supply chain.
