Mathura temple to deploy technology for donation purity verification
The Sri Krishna Janmasthan Sewa Sansthan in Mathura will introduce an advanced computerised testing machine to verify the purity of metal donations, marking a significant step toward greater transparency in its fundraising processes.

The Mathura-based temple trust will deploy a sophisticated metal-testing system capable of identifying 20 different metallic elements, with operations commencing during the Navratri festival on October 11. The non-destructive testing technology will assess the composition of precious metal donations without requiring the items to be broken or altered during the verification process.
According to Sewa Sansthan Secretary Kapil Sharma, each purity test will be conducted in real-time before the donor, who will receive a detailed test report alongside their donation receipt. The devotee must sign the report, which will include their mobile phone number for record-keeping purposes.
All metal donations received through the temple's hundis and collection boxes will be subjected to this testing during the regular counting and verification procedures. A copy of each test report will be retained in the Sewa Sansthan's archives, creating a comprehensive documented record of donated materials.
The initiative reflects growing efforts among major religious institutions across India to modernise their financial and asset management systems while maintaining public confidence in donation handling. The transparency measure is expected to benefit both the temple's operational accountability and the donors' assurance regarding their contributions.
