MBWP launches twin initiatives to boost youth employment and creativity

The Majlis Bandaraya Wilayah Persekutuan (MBWP) has unveiled two high-impact initiatives designed to support youth employment and entrepreneurship across Malaysia's federal territories. The initiatives—Batik Seri Madani and the Malaysia Film Industry Expo (MFIX)—are intended to catalyse job creation while enhancing commercial prospects for local talent and creative industries. Both programmes target the expansion of domestic enterprises into international markets, strengthening Malaysia's competitive position in the global creative economy. Batik Seri Madani focuses on traditional textile artisans and emerging designers, providing platforms to showcase and commercialise batik products to both local and overseas buyers. The initiative seeks to preserve cultural heritage while generating sustainable income opportunities for young craftspeople and entrepreneurs in the batik sector. The Malaysia Film Industry Expo represents a complementary push to energise the nation's film and audiovisual sectors. MFIX is designed to connect filmmakers, producers, and content creators with industry stakeholders, investors, and international distribution networks, facilitating both collaboration and market access for Malaysian productions. Together, the two programmes reflect MBWP's strategy to position young Malaysians as competitive participants in creative industries while nurturing exports that showcase local culture and innovation on the world stage.
