The explosive opening batter played a pivotal role in India's gold medal defence at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, where the team demonstrated commanding performances throughout the tournament.

Shafali emerged as the tournament's leading run-scorer with 188 runs at an average of 94 and a strike rate exceeding 200. Her contributions were decisive across multiple stages, including a 49-ball century against Bangladesh in the semifinals, 40 runs against Japan in the quarterfinals, and an unbeaten 48-run innings in the final against Sri Lanka.

India's path to gold was marked by emphatic victories at every stage. The team defeated Bangladesh by 114 runs in the semifinals before routing Sri Lanka by 147 runs in the final, and earlier dismissed Japan by eight wickets in the quarterfinals.
