Medical aspirants can cancel NEET UG seats until September 20

Medical aspirants who have been allotted seats in the second round of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Undergraduate counselling now have until September 20 to cancel their allocations, according to the National Testing Agency (NTA). The window for seat cancellation allows candidates to forgo their current allotment if they wish to pursue alternative options or prepare for subsequent counselling rounds. Candidates seeking to cancel their seats must do so through the official NEET counselling portal using their login credentials. The cancellation process is straightforward, with applicants required to navigate to the seat cancellation section and confirm their decision. Once a seat is cancelled, the position becomes available for allocation to other candidates in subsequent merit-based selections. The NTA has advised aspirants to review their options carefully before the deadline, as cancellations submitted after September 20 will not be entertained. Medical colleges and institutes are expected to proceed with seat allotment processes based on the final count of candidates retaining their allocations following the cancellation window closure.
