The investigation was triggered after samples purchased from Venus, a beauty product retailer operating in the region, tested positive for the banned substance. Authorities subsequently expanded their examination to other batches in circulation, determining that the contamination was isolated to a small number of units.
The company has cooperated with regulatory agencies throughout the review process. Medicube's capsule cream is one of its flagship skincare products and has maintained a significant market presence in Southeast Asia.
Regulatory bodies have confirmed that the affected batches have been identified and removed from distribution channels.
