Medvedev claimed a 6-7(6) 6-1 6-3 victory over Basilashvili in the final, recovering from an initial setback to dominate the latter stages of the match in Kazakhstan's largest city. After a tightly contested first set that went to a tiebreak, the world-ranked player asserted his authority on court, breaking serve repeatedly to secure the remaining two sets with relative ease.
The triumph extends Medvedev's impressive form on the ATP circuit this year, adding to his earlier tournament wins and strengthening his position in the race for the prestigious ATP Finals. His fourth title of the season underscores his consistency and provides momentum as the professional tennis calendar heads into its final stretch.
Medvedev's back-to-back Almaty Open titles demonstrate his ability to perform at the Central Asian venue, where he has now established himself as the dominant force. The 28-year-old Russian will look to build on this success as the ATP season concludes and eyes a strong finish in the year-end rankings.
