Melaka CM says PH withdrawal unexpected, unsolicited

MELAKA: The state government's ability to serve the people has not been compromised following the unexpected withdrawal of Pakatan Harapan (PH) representatives from the administration, according to Chief Minister Rauf Datuk Seri Idris.

The CM emphasised that the departure, which occurred in July, was neither anticipated nor solicited by his administration. Despite the political shift, he expressed confidence that the government would continue to function effectively in fulfilling its obligations to residents.

The statement comes as the Melaka state government navigates the political changes resulting from PH's exit from the ruling coalition. The administration has signalled its determination to maintain continuity in service delivery and governance operations.

Melaka has experienced significant political realignments in recent years, with various coalition arrangements shaping the state's governing structure. The current administration's emphasis on stability suggests an effort to reassure the public amid ongoing political adjustments at the state level.
