Melaka PH aims for seat gains rather than outright victory

Adly Zahari, chief of Pakatan Harapan in Melaka, outlined the coalition's electoral objectives as more modest than outright victory in the state polls, signalling a realistic assessment of the political landscape ahead. The coalition is focusing its efforts on capturing additional seats in strategic battlegrounds rather than pursuing majority control of the state assembly. To achieve this goal, PH has identified the need to secure approximately 30 percent of the Malay vote across several key constituencies identified as competitive. Analysts have noted that capturing this demographic segment would be crucial to PH's success in constituencies where Malay voters constitute a substantial portion of the electorate. The revised strategy reflects broader coalition deliberations about realistic outcomes and resource allocation in the upcoming state election.
