Melaka state election set for November 14

The Melaka state election will be held on November 14, the state election commission announced, setting the timeline for the electoral process across the southern state.

Nomination day has been fixed for October 31, when candidates will formally submit their nominations to contest the election. This will be followed by the early voting period on November 10, allowing eligible voters who cannot cast their ballots on polling day to participate in the electoral process.

The election will determine the composition of the Melaka State Legislative Assembly and select the administration that will govern the state for the coming term. All registered voters in Melaka will be eligible to participate in the election, subject to existing electoral regulations.

The announcement of the election dates allows political parties and candidates time to prepare their campaigns and mobilise support across the state's constituencies ahead of the November 14 polling day.
