Mercantile Bank Limited and Bangladesh Bank have formalized a pre-financing agreement worth Tk2,000 crore, according to official announcements from both institutions. The arrangement is designed to provide enhanced liquidity support to export-oriented enterprises operating within Bangladesh's manufacturing and trading sectors.

The pre-financing facility will enable eligible exporters to access working capital more readily, supporting their operations ahead of shipment and payment realization. Under the agreement, Mercantile Bank will serve as a partner institution, facilitating access to funds for businesses engaged in export activities across various industries.

The initiative reflects Bangladesh Bank's ongoing efforts to strengthen the export financing ecosystem and ensure adequate credit flow to businesses involved in international trade. Pre-financing arrangements have become critical tools for supporting exporters, particularly small and medium enterprises that require bridge financing during production and shipping cycles.

Mercantile Bank, one of Bangladesh's significant private commercial banks, has positioned itself as an active participant in export credit schemes. The agreement aligns with national economic priorities focused on boosting export competitiveness and maintaining steady growth in the country's merchandise exports.
