Meta and local partner Roar AdX have launched a Small Business Growth Academy aimed at equipping Sri Lankan entrepreneurs with digital marketing skills to expand their customer reach and scale their operations.

The initiative was formally unveiled in Sri Lanka with support from the government, bringing together policymakers, Meta representatives, and local business owners. Deputy Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Chathuranga Abeysinghe presided over the launch event, underscoring official backing for the programme.
The Small Business Growth Academy aims to address a key gap in digital marketing knowledge among Sri Lanka's SME sector. By partnering with Roar AdX, Meta seeks to provide practical training and tools that entrepreneurs can apply directly to their businesses, helping them navigate digital advertising platforms and reach wider customer bases.
The academy represents Meta's broader commitment to supporting small and medium enterprises across South Asia as they transition to digital business models. Access to structured digital marketing education has long been cited as a limiting factor for SME growth in the region, particularly for businesses operating outside major urban centres.
Participants in the programme are expected to gain hands-on experience with Meta's advertising platforms alongside broader digital strategy guidance. The initiative builds on similar growth academies Meta has established in other markets, adapted to address the specific needs and context of Sri Lanka's entrepreneurial ecosystem.
