The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a weather warning for three states as unstable atmospheric conditions move across the region. Kelantan, Sarawak and Sabah are expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds until 7 pm, according to the department's latest bulletin issued from Kuala Lumpur.

The warning comes as a band of moisture-laden winds moves across the eastern and northern regions of Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia. MetMalaysia advises residents and commuters in the affected areas to exercise caution during the forecasted period, particularly those engaging in outdoor activities or water-based recreation.

Authorities recommend that residents secure loose outdoor items and monitor local weather updates regularly. Drivers are urged to reduce speed on major highways and exercise extra care, as reduced visibility and wet road conditions may increase accident risk during the severe weather.

MetMalaysia continues to monitor atmospheric developments and will issue updates if conditions change or if the warning period requires extension. Members of the public can access real-time weather information through MetMalaysia's official website and mobile application.
