Metro Manila minimum wage rises by P60 under new wage order

Metro Manila's minimum wage climbed by P60 on Saturday as Wage Order No. 28 became effective, providing relief to thousands of workers in the country's economic hub. Nonagricultural workers will now receive a daily minimum wage of P755, up from the previous rate of P695, while agricultural sector employees will earn P718 per day under the new order. The wage adjustment applies across all industries and employment categories covered by the wage order in the National Capital Region. The increase represents the first wage adjustment for Metro Manila workers in a significant period, reflecting efforts by labor authorities to address rising cost of living pressures.
