MANILA — Traffic on key routes throughout Metro Manila remained light Monday morning as the metropolis observed All Souls' Day, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
The traffic authority's Metrobase system reported uncongested conditions on major roads at 7 a.m., with smooth vehicle flow as residents traveled to cemeteries and memorial parks across the capital region.
Millions of Filipinos traditionally participate in All Souls' Day observances on November 2, visiting burial grounds to place flowers, light candles, and pay respects at the graves of deceased family members. The annual tradition draws substantial crowds to Metro Manila's numerous cemeteries, typically generating significant vehicular movement throughout the day.
The MMDA advised motorists to monitor traffic updates throughout the morning and afternoon hours as cemetery visits intensify. Officials encouraged early travel to avoid congestion during peak visiting periods.
