Metro Manila Subway Project to cause Shaw-Ortigas traffic delays

MANILA — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) cautioned motorists on Monday that the Shaw-Ortigas corridor will experience traffic disruptions over the coming weekend as authorities move a tunnel boring machine for the ongoing Metro Manila Subway Project.

The equipment transport is scheduled to occur between Wednesday, November 4, and Saturday, November 7, with officials warning of potential gridlock throughout the affected area during this period.

The DOTr announcement, posted on its official Facebook page, advised the public to consider alternate routes and allow extra travel time when navigating the Shaw-Ortigas district during the specified dates. The tunnel boring machine forms part of the critical underground infrastructure required for the subway project, which aims to expand metro rail connectivity across the Philippine capital.

Commuters in the region are encouraged to monitor official DOTr updates for any changes to traffic management measures or project timelines that may affect road conditions in the area.
