Metro safety body launches three-day inspection of Bengaluru Pink Line

The Chief Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety has commenced a detailed safety audit of the elevated portion of Bengaluru's Pink Line metro corridor. The inspection, spanning three days, focuses on the segment between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere stations, which comprises six stations in total.

The safety examination is a standard procedural requirement for metro rail infrastructure and covers critical aspects of operational readiness, structural integrity, and safety systems. Officials conduct these inspections to ensure compliance with national safety standards before granting final operational clearance to new sections.

The Pink Line, one of Namma Metro's major expansion projects, has been under development to enhance connectivity across Bengaluru. The completion of this elevated stretch represents a significant milestone in the city's metro network expansion.

The CMRS assessment includes verification of track infrastructure, signalling systems, emergency protocols, and station facilities. Following the inspection, the CMRS will submit its findings and recommendations to metro authorities before the line section can be formally commissioned for public operations.
