Led by a stellar performance from recurve archer Dhiraj Bommadevara, the Marathas secured the APL title with a commanding display of precision and consistency. Bommadevara capped off the final with a dramatic inner X-ring shot, underlining his team's dominance in the championship clash.
The Marathas' roster featured world-class talent, with Dutch archer Mike Schloesser delivering a near-perfect performance by scoring 80 out of a possible 80 points. Bommadevara contributed 79 out of 80, forming a formidable combination that proved too strong for the Knights' challenge.
The Knights came into the final riding high after securing victories over the Marathas in the league stage on Saturday and again in the opening qualifier on Sunday. However, the Marathas regrouped and eliminated the Prithviraaj Yodhas in the second eliminator to secure their spot in the championship decider.
The title triumph marks a significant achievement for the Marathas in the season, demonstrating their resilience and competitive prowess across multiple formats of the elite archery competition.
