Migrant workers owed wages matched with fresh employment opportunities

Migrant workers who have been denied wages are being supported through a coordinated employment and welfare programme, with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) providing temporary accommodation at its dedicated onboarding facility in Sengkang West.

The intervention has yielded early positive results, with a portion of affected workers already collecting outstanding wage payments. The centre serves as a hub where workers can access employment counselling, job matching services, and accommodation while their cases are being resolved.

The programme reflects efforts to address wage theft and employment disputes affecting Singapore's migrant workforce. By centralising support services at the onboarding centre, authorities aim to accelerate the recovery of owed wages and facilitate smoother transitions into new employment arrangements.

MOM has not disclosed the total number of workers currently receiving support through the initiative or provided timelines for resolving all outstanding wage claims. The agency continues to investigate cases of wage non-payment and pursue remedial action against employers found in breach of employment regulations.
