MILF removes Macacua as military commander over insubordination charges

COTABATO CITY — The central committee of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) has terminated Bangsamoro interim Chief Minister Abdulraof "Sammy Gambar" Macacua from his role as chief of the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (BIAF), the group's military arm.
The panel determined that insubordination warranted Macacua's removal from the position. The decision was announced before a significant gathering, underscoring the gravity of the disciplinary action within the MILF hierarchy.
Beyond Macacua's dismissal, the committee also relieved approximately 40 additional commanders of their duties as part of what appears to be a broader restructuring of the military leadership.
