NAY PYI TAW - Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administration Council, has announced plans to transform the capital into a green, clean, and smart city, according to state media reports.
The military leader, who assumed power following the overthrow of the civilian government in February 2021, stated that the development initiative would create numerous opportunities for the capital city. His remarks were published in the state-owned Global New Light of Myanmar.
Nay Pyi Taw, which became Myanmar's administrative capital in 2006, has been characterized by wide boulevards and sprawling government complexes.
