MANILA – Two retired and active military officers are set to testify in the ongoing Senate impeachment proceedings regarding their certifications used in Department of Education confidential fund liquidation records, according to House prosecution representatives.
Retired Col. Manaros Boransing II and Col. Magtangol Panopio are scheduled to appear before the impeachment court to address discrepancies surrounding Armed Forces certifications that appear in DepEd documents. The House prosecution has indicated that the officers' testimony is needed to explain why their certifications were included in the confidential fund records, particularly given that the signatories have previously stated they were unaware of how their signatures would be used.
