Minhas shines with bat and ball as Pakistan downs England in tri-series
Pakistan claimed a commanding 87-run victory over England in the ODI tri-series on Tuesday, with young all-rounder Arafat Minhas delivering a match-winning performance of 59 runs and six wickets. The 21-year-old's dual contribution powered the hosts to their second consecutive win in the tournament also featuring Sri Lanka.

Minhas proved the difference as Pakistan posted 302 for nine after England captain Harry Brook elected to field following winning the coin toss. The left-handed batsman's unbeaten 59, struck off 58 balls, provided crucial impetus in the middle overs to guide the home side to a competitive total.
England's opening pair of Tom Banton and Ben Duckett made promising starts with 57 and 45 respectively, but the visiting lineup crumbled against Minhas's left-arm spin bowling. The 21-year-old claimed six wickets for just 40 runs, including dismissing Brook for five, as England was restricted to 215 all out with over 11 overs remaining in their tournament opener.
"I kept my plans simple," Minhas said after the match. "I think variations are very important for a spinner as they help in deceiving the opposition batters."
The tri-series, which commenced on Sunday when Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 37 runs, continues on Thursday with England facing off against the islanders. Pakistan's victory extends their unbeaten record in the round-robin phase of the competition.
