PUTRAJAYA — Senator Dr Zulkifli Hasan, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), has categorically rejected reports suggesting that Tabung Haji funds were allocated to cover Socso contributions for religious personnel.

The minister's statement comes amid public concern over the management and allocation of deposits held at Tabung Haji, the pilgrimage savings fund that serves millions of Malaysian Muslims preparing for the Hajj journey.

Zulkifli Hasan stressed that the claims circulating about the diversion of depositors' savings are inaccurate and urged the public to disregard misinformation on the matter. He reaffirmed the government's commitment to safeguarding the interests of Tabung Haji contributors and maintaining transparency in fund management.

The clarification addresses growing scrutiny surrounding Tabung Haji's financial operations and its handling of member deposits. The fund has faced increased scrutiny in recent years regarding its investment decisions and administrative practices.

The minister's office indicated that further details regarding Tabung Haji's financial allocations would be made available through official channels to ensure clarity among stakeholders and the general public.
