KUALA LUMPUR — The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM) has committed to channelling its increased Budget 2027 allocation towards programmes serving women, children, persons with disabilities (OKU) and elderly citizens, according to ministry leadership.

The pledged focus reflects the government's prioritisation of support systems for marginalised and vulnerable demographic groups. The ministry plans to strategically deploy the additional financial resources to strengthen existing initiatives and develop new services targeting these populations.

The commitment encompasses expanded welfare programmes, enhanced community support services and targeted interventions designed to address the specific needs of each group. Officials indicated that budget utilisation would be guided by evidence-based assessments of community needs and programme effectiveness.

The ministry's allocation increase signals renewed emphasis on family-oriented social policies as part of the broader government agenda. Implementation mechanisms are expected to involve coordination with relevant agencies to ensure coordinated delivery of services across different administrative levels and geographic regions.
